Welcome! Since this is my first blog post I thought I would start off by answering a few questions to kind of give you a better idea of who I am and what you can expect from my blog :) I will also be featuring my first nail of the week picture.
Question 1: Are you a professional nail tech?
No I definitely am not. I have been doing my own nails for many years and have toyed with the idea of going to school but so far I have not. If things go well this year I hope to start. So any reviews or opinions I post are not from a professional point of view however I feel with all the brands and techniques I have experimented with throughout the years I do have more to offer then the average consumer.
Question 2: When did you first get into nail polish/nail art?
Im 30 years old now and I first started painting my nails every week in the seventh grade. I was never much of a girly girl but I liked the way polish added softness and femininity to any outfit.
Question 3: Favorite nail polish brand?
If you decide to follow my blog you will see that I do not repeat do not buy expensive polish. I have always and will always use inexpensive brands as I believe that the key to making your manicure last is not spending 8+ dollars on a bottle of polish but instead using a good top coat and using a few simple tricks that I will go over in future blog posts! :)
Question 4: are your nails real????
yesssss this is without a doubt the most frequently asked question I get from people on a day to day basis. I have never had acrylics or even acrylic overlay and hopefully I never will
Question 5: How do you do anything with those nails?
Probably the second most frequently asked question and the answer is you get used to it! My nails do not stop me from doing anything including dishes, laundry, cleaning the bathroom, and yes cleaning myself as people so tactfully inquire. Again I believe it just comes down to a few easy tricks which I will be going over in this blog.
Question 6: do you take anything to help your nails grow?
yes I do take supplements, (calcium and vitamin D) but not just for my nails, the supplements will help you grow your nails but it won't do all the work for you weekly maintenance is also key
Question 7: how long does nail polish last for you?
This is something that will vary greatly with each person and their particular nail and lifestyle. On me personally it will last a week to a week and a half but I usually take it off after a week since I get bored easily. If this seems unimaginable to you I will be sharing some tips and tricks in the future to help your polish last this long as well.
Question 8: what is the longest your nails have ever been?
The longest they have ever been is two inches. I would not go any longer then that however since it does become a significant hindrance at that point. On average now I keep them between a 1/2 inch-1inch
Question 9: who are your favorite nail bloggers/vloggers?
Without a doubt my favorite is a lovely lady named raquel who has a youtube channel and features lovely original designs. I have learned so much about nail art from her and will be recreating her designs in some of my nail of the week posts. This is the link to her channel on Youtube.
