Tutorial: Embroidery Inspired Rose Design

I decided to make a tutorial for the manicure I am wearing this week since I think it's one of the prettiest I have done in awhile but it's also one of the easiest. It is inspired by beautiful hand embroidered clothing I sell in my store. I hope you get a chance to try out the tutorial, thanks for reading!

To start off with I included a picture of our design inspiration. Obviously you do not have to use the same colors so you choose the ones you like and let's begin.
Step One: Paint nails two coats of your desired color, I chose Essie "lollipop"

Step Two: Using a small size dotting tool (pictured) and white water based acrylic paint start by making a small spiral in the middle of the nail. A great alternative to this small size dotting tool if you do not have one, is either the tip of a ball point pen or the tip of a sharpened pencil. (paint washes off with water)
Step Three: Continue making slightly squiggly uneven lines in a circle around the spiral until it forms the shape of a rose. Make sure lines are not even or perfect since they are supposed to represent the individual petal of the flower.
Step Four: Using the small size dotting tool and green water based acrylic paint add swirls on the top and bottom of the flower. Make four stems extending from the four corners of the flower where the rosebuds will be, add tiny green teardrops around the flowers and stems for the leaves
Step Five: Going back with the white paint and the same small size dotting tool add tiny tear shaped rosebuds out of the four stems we created in step four. Add dots along the spirals to give the illusion of more flowers in the background.

*Finish by sealing in the design with a good topcoat, this is very important since otherwise the design will wash off.
