my new engagement ring: every manicure goes with it ;)
|
After a busy few weeks I'm back with a new manicure and as you can see a new engagement ring. I think it's going to go well with every manicure ;) This week's design was inspired by the delicate hand embroidered rose design in some clothes I sell in my store. It's one of those designs that looks incredibly detailed and complicated but is actually quite easy. To achieve this design all I did was paint my nails two coats of Essie "lollipop" and I used the very smallest size dotting tool to draw the design with white and green water based acrylic paint. The great thing about this style of roses is that they are sort of error proof since they are achieved just by creating a small spiral and drawing a series of squiggly lines in a circle around it. I am going to have alot more free time in the next couple of weeks so I am hoping to do a tutorial on this. I hate neglecting my blog! :) I hope you enjoy this week's nail look. :) Thanks for reading!
Steps for Achieving this look:
1) paint two coats red polish (or any color of your choice) I used Essie "lollipop"

2) use a small size dotting tool (mine came in a set of 15 nail art brushes I purchased on Ebay for $2.85

3) use green water based acrylic paint and the small size dotting tool to add leaves and other details.
4) use a good topcoat since any design with water based acrylic paint will wash off without it. I use NYC in a New York Minute topcoat in "grand central station"
