This week I went to Sally Beauty Supply for the first time in I can't even remember how long. I picked up a couple products, that are not new, but are new to me, and I wanted to share my thoughts on them. Both products are available in all Sally stores and on the website. link here http://www.sallybeauty.com/. Shipping on the website is free for orders over $50.

How have I never used this before? We have all had that favorite nail polish in our collection that dries up and gets gloopy and unuseable halfway through the bottle. I don't buy expensive nail polishes but I still dislike paying for half a bottle of polish, also I have favorite colors, or some hard to find or discontinued colors that are not easy to replace. Well instead of throwing it out, as I have always done Beauty Secrets Nail polish thinner will actually restore your nail polish back to its original consistency extending the life of your polish through the bottom of the bottle. In the past I will cop to adding a bit of nail polish remover and shaking it up to try to restore my nail polish but this will only last maybe one more application before the remover starts to break down the polish. I was so excited when I purchased this product that I literally went home that night and used it on all the polishes in my collection that were thick and gloopy. The only downside is the bottle actually says it will only take a few drops however I found that I had to use more like one full squirt, and shake the bottle for a few minutes before I achieved the desired result. But it performed exactly as it said it would and now I will be able to use all my favorite colors all the way through the end! The bottle even has a thin nozzle that makes it easy to add the product to the nail polish without creating a huge mess. Go get this product! It is only $4.79 at Sally's Beauty Supply and online and stop throwing out those dried up gloopy polishes. :) click here to purchase Beauty Secrets Nail polish thinner

I will admit that I tend to not be the absolute neatest person in the world when it comes to applying nail polish. My nails are long and curved rather then flat which makes it difficult to avoid sometimes getting a little polish on the skin. I have almost always used q-tips dipped in a little polish remover to clean up around the sides and cuticles but because of the shape of the q-tip it can sometimes accidently remove a bit of your nail polish on the nail as well, or it can leave a tiny bit of cotton behind if your polish is still a little tacky and not fully dry. grrr frustrating. So I was really excited to try out this polish corrector pen. It is filled with acetone polish and has an angled tip to help clean up and perfect any mistakes, giving you a perfect salon looking manicure....that's the idea at least. Ugh soooo disappointed in this. It literally worked great for me for ONE use. The problem is the tip is like a felt tip marker and it absorbs the color of whatever you were using it on ( in my case purple) and stains the tip that color. Then when you try to use it for other manicures it smears some of that excess color left over from your last manicure all over your cuticles and skin. NOT GOOD. It also dried out totally after my second (attempted) use. I tried to salvage it by dipping the pen in remover hoping it would soak up some of the product but that did absolutely nothing. Please do not waste your money on this. I paid $2.99 which isn't ALOT but who wants to waste money completely on something that doesn't work? If I lived closer to Sally's I would have taken it back. boooo hisssss Click here to purchase Beauty Secrets Nail Polish Corrector pen
