Very Easy Effie Trinket Hunger Games Nail Tutorial

Effie Trinket Hunger Games Nails

Last week I saw The Hunger Games for the first time. I realize I'm a little late on the Hunger Games nails bandwagon but I just had to recreate this pretty and super easy manicure. Any skill level can do this look in a few easy steps.

1) Paint your nails with a fuschia colored polish I chose "Neon Fuschia" by Icing
2) Use a triangular shaped makeup sponge and paint one thin strip of gold polish onto the sponge. I chose a gold polish by Sephora that I got in a gift set for Christmas.
3) Beginning at the tip of the nail, sponge the gold polish 2/3 of the way down the nail concentrating the polish more at the tip and pressing lighter as you go down to obtain a gradient effect.
4) Let the first coat dry.
5) Paint one more thin coat of gold polish onto the sponge and lightly sponge from the tip of the nail, this time stopping halfway down
6) Using a thin gold glitter polish dab a little onto just the tips of the nails. I chose the color "Gold Dust" by Icing.
7) add a topcoat to bring out the shine and blend all the colors together

So much so that you made me want to learn more about it. Your blog is my stepping stone, my friend. Thanks for the heads up on this subject.

Thank you so much for your kind comments! Unlike a lot of people I just do this blog for fun (I don't make any money or anything off it) so it just makes my day to hear that other people are enjoying it. If you have any design requests I would be happy to do them for you :)
