So as you can see I still do not have a new camera yet although I am hoping to get one this week so I have been trying to hold off on posting but I really liked this week's design so I decided to just go ahead and post it grainy webcam pics and all. This week's nails were alot of fun. I knew I wanted to incorporate nail jewels since I love them but don't seem to use them nearly as much as I would like, and I wanted to replicate the look of acrylic with the handpainted scroll patterns. Since I don't actually have acrylic or any of those supplies I replicated the kind of 3D effect of acrylic using water based acrylic paint and building it up over three layers with topcoat. In other words I painted the scroll pattern with the acrylic paint and a detailing brush, added topcoat, repainted over the top of that, added topcoat, repainted over the top of that, and added topcoat. In the end you are left with a beautiful 3D pattern on your nails, which I think almost looks like lace. It was alot of work but it was something fun to try. On my other nails I put one of my favorite pinks which is the Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in Pink Promise (I believe the Diamond Strength line is discontinued since they are now selling that at my local Dollar Tree, which is a shame because it is an excellent line) topped with Sally Hansen Extreme Wear in Strobe light (which is an excellent dupe for the Katy Perry OPI polish "teenage dream") Again I apologize for the grainy pics but its the best I can do for now and hopefully I will scrape together some cash and get a new one soon. :) Thanks for reading and have a great week!
