lemme see your peacock feathers

Peacock Feather Manicure with matching glitter

the matching undersides of my nails (this look is very trendy right now)

I haven't been feeling too well this week so for this week's nail design I decided to try something simple but pretty. I am playing around with a celtic knot design and hopefully will do that once I start feeling a little better. But for now I went with a beautiful peacock feather design. I am absolutely obsessed with peacock feathers, that and leopard print are my two favorite designs. What inspired me was this beautiful glitter nail polish named "lemme see your peacock" that I picked up this week from Icing in the mall.

"lemme see your peacock" nail polish by Icing

I love love love glitter polish and this one was totally unique, I had never seen a shade like it before so I just had to have it. It is a gorgeous glitter topcoat with dark teal, light blue, and magenta glitters inside. The polish itself I think would be quite hard to work with on its own since you would have to build it up several layers in order to achieve the bottle color but I quite liked it under another color. I paired it with a dark neon teal color (also from icing) that just happened to match it perfectly and I brought out the magenta color by painting the undersides of my nails in that color (another one I just happened to have in my collection from icing) I have seen swatches of this on other blogs where it was layered under black and it was gorgeous as well. Icing polishes are actually really great quality surprisingly, most are totally opaque with two coats and very inexpensive. (Icing has a perpetual buy one get one half off for their nail polish which made this about $2.50 but I think it's about $3.00 without the sale. ) Sadly I don't think most of the colors are readily available online so unless you have an Icing store nearby you might be out of luck. The peacock feather is not one of my homemade nail stickers I have showed in my previous designs I actually drew it directly on the nail with a small sized dotting tool and acrylic paint. As always if you work with acrylic paint on your nails you must wear a topcoat since the paint will simply wash off without it. The look of painting the undersides of your nails is quite trendy right now thanks to the so called "louboutin" manicure that Adele sported to this year's Grammy's. I laughed when I first heard this since its actually something I used to do a lot in the past and I'm sure I'm not the only one. It's funny how trends are always fading away and coming back. Here is a picture of Adele's manicure. Thanks for reading and have a great week!
