This week I knew I wanted to do something fun and 4th of July inspired but I did not want to do just the typical boring stars and stripes nails everybody does. (snooze!) It's been awhile since I've done hello kitty nails so I thought I would so something fun and combine the two. If you have read my blog before you know that all my cartoon nails are hand painted with water based acrylic paints and covered with a layer of top coat since without it the paints will wash off. The main benefits of using acrylic paints in a more intricate design is that until it is covered with topcoat you can easily wash the design off with water and a q-tip if you make a mistake rather then having to start all over like you do with regular nail polish. It also does not get gloopy rather quickly like nail polish does making intricate designs quite difficult to do. I just buy the cheapest $0.59 bottle of paint you can get at any craft store (michael's joann's etc) So if you want to try out some basic nail art try it out with acrylic paint, if you don't like it just wash it off. :) Happy fourth of July! Thanks for reading.
