pedicure of the week: sandal ready summer fruits

This week I wanted to do something bright and fun since it is finally summer weather here in Portland. I bought a fimo fruit wheel a few months ago and I have been dying to use them. I started off with one coat of white polish to help the glitter polishes stand out more and I chose three bright glitter colors for my background to fit the summery theme and applied an extra coat of glitter over all three to add extra sparkles. It was so much fun and I can't wait to wear my flip flops this week! :)

If you're thinking..."what the heck are fimo fruits?" Well fimo are actually made of polymer clay and sliced into tiny 3D fruit slices that can be applied to the nail with a thick topcoat. They come in every different variety of fruit, and you can even purchase fimo flowers as well.

Tips for Applying the Fimo:
Fimo can be a little bit hard to work with because they do start to wrinkle up a bit when they are first applied to the nail. But with a little patience and some light pressing on all the sides with a dotting tool it will lay totally flat.  You must apply a good thick topcoat over them or they can peel off easily.
