Nail of the week: Girly Lace and plaid

Moss "black" (thai brand purchased in thailand for around $.25)
This week I did something a little different for me. Lately I have been into girly looks but with a little bit of an edge and I think this manicure is a good example. I have been wanting to do a lace design for quite awhile but I was never pleased with past attempts and I think the black/pink/and white complements yet toughens the whole look up a bit. The entire look was quite easy to achieve, all you need is black nail polish, white and pink acrylic paint, and a small liner brush.
1) start out by painting your nails two coats of your favorite black polish. I chose this black from the asian brand "moss" that I purchased in thailand for about 15 baht or $.25. It does not have a brand name on the bottle. For that price I wasn't expecting a whole lot but it is actually amazingly pigmented. I could have easily gotten away with one coat but I put two just to make sure it wouldn't chip. If you live in Asia or are visiting this brand can literally be purchased anywhere on the street and it is DEFINITELY worth picking up. I only wish I had bought more colors.
2) with white acrylic paint add a white side swipe on your thumb and ring finger, don't worry about making the white too opaque since it is supposed to give the look of lace. Make sure the edges of the sideswipe are scalloped.

3) using black acrylic paint and the liner brush add one black dot in the center of each of the scallops. Then using the same brush add small five dotted flowers in whatever pattern you like. When you are satisfied with your flower design add tiny question mark shaped swirls on the sides of each of the flowers.
4) on the other fingers use the same white acrylic paint and a liner brush add two parallel vertical lines on the left side of the nail. Near the bottom of the nail tip add two parallel vertical lines.
*tip: if you mess up the lines or find they are not perfectly straight simply use black acrylic paint to paint over the white lines and perfect them.
5) using pink acrylic paint and your small liner brush add one vertical line on the right side of the nail intersecting the white horizontal lines.
6) just below the white horizontal lines add one pink horizontal line, intersecting the vertical parallel lines and the pink vertical line.
7) add topcoat sealing in your design and youre finished! I hope you enjoy this week's nail art design thanks for reading!
