Nail of the week: Easy beginner Flames

Icing "Glimmer Girl" $4.50 ea or buy one get one 1/2 price
This week's nail art is a very easy one to achieve. I used only two nail polishes, two colors of water based acrylic paint and my small size dotting tool.

1) to begin with paint all your nails a solid creme black of your favorite brand
2) the next step is optional but I added a shimmery gold topcoat from Icing called "glimmer girl" to add a little bit of dimension and give the illusion of heat on my flames. I have blogged about Icing nail polishes at length in the past because in my opinion they are some of the best quality polishes for the price. I havent found one yet that isnt opaque in two coats and the staying power with a good topcoat is amazing. At .65 fl oz you are also getting more product then most brands. Icing polishes retail for $4.50 each but they have a permanent buy one get one half off deal. Icing also carries some amazing higher end "dupes" I have found deborah lippman, china glaze, and essie dupes just to name a few. I highly recommend them!
3) using your dotting tool and red acrylic paint start at the tip of the nail and draw your flames upward in any pattern you like, this design is easily customizable and your flames can be as small or as big as you like.
4) using your dotting tool and yellow acrylic paint carefully outline around your red flames. It doesnt have to be perfect, just make sure that the yellow paint is totally covering the tip of the nail so that all that flames are "joined"
5) Add topcoat to seal in your design and youre finished! Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed
